Wolfestone Translation donates Bengali translation for the environmental film of the year

Wolfestone Translation has been approached by the DVD multi-languages producer of ‘The Age of Stupid’ to be a UK translation partner for the film. The film tells the story of a man (Peter Postlethwaite) living alone in 2055 and wondering why we didn’t do more to save the planet when we had the chance. The film has been produced in an attempt to stir the public into action with regards to climate change and has been hailed by Mark Lynas as ‘the most powerful piece of cultural discourse on climate change ever produced.’

Wolfestone Translation who already has a dedicated division of their company for the Renewable Energy sector called Eco Trans have welcomed the opportunity to take part in such an important production. Anna Bastek, Director of Wolfestone Translation stated: “As a green and ethical company we have enthusiastically agreed to be a part of this epic production and we understand the consequences of climate change. We are working on becoming a carbon neutral company and as a first step we have implemented the environmental standard ISO 14001.” Anna added: “We hope that the film will be a great success and will make people realise that we need to act really quickly in order to save our planet."

The film is in a similar vain to Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ a hard hitting 2006 production about climate change. Art and the medium of film can be a powerful vehicle for change and the release and success of ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ and the potential success of ‘The Age of Stupid’ reflect a greater realisation of the public with regards to global warming.

The film will be released in UK cinemas on the 20th March and the success and distirbution of the film will rest on the amount of people who go and see the film over the first three days. Visit the website www.ageofstupid.net to learn more about the film. Wolfestone is actively promoting the production and offers free tickets to its clients.
