Language Interpreting Service
Interpreters are becoming increasingly important. Our dealings with the international market as well as a growing ethnic minority population at home means the services of an interpreter to overcome language barriers is crucial.
Wolfestone can provide: conference interpreters, court interpreters, telephone interpreters, certified interpreters at very competitive prices.
We also supply interpreting equipment for conferences, meetings and conventions.
Interpreting allows one person to speak in their native tongue, whilst a second person repeats what has been said in your own language.
There are several types of interpretation.
In Simultaneous interpreting the interpreter attempts to relay the meaning in real time. Naturally there is a small delay while the interpreter processes information. This type of interpreting is used more in conferences and tele/video conferences. It should be kept in mind that the nature of this work requires specialist equipment if the client does not wish for 'whispering interpreting'. In addition, if you require this service for a whole day it will be necessary to source at least two interpreters due to the mental fatigue experienced by the concentration required for this work.
Simultaneous interpreting is common at large multinational meetings where proceedings are interpreted with a 2-3 second delay. This type of interpreting service requires interpreters working in teams of 2 or 3 in sound-proofed booths. Interpreters speak into a microphone and the delegates listen through headsets. Smaller events do not require a booth but rather a radio mic and headsets.
Consecutive interpreting means that the interpreter listens to a section of speech then either summarises or relays verbatim. This is more useful for one-to-one meetings and small groups. Consecutive interpreting is common in formal situations where interpreting takes place after each sentence or after a short speech is given. This is common in court proceedings, small conferences or group discussions.
Ad-hoc interpreting is more suitable for small meetings such as a solicitor's appointment or hospital visits where the interpreter reacts to the given situation.
Interpreting can be invaluable when your company is holding business meetings or conferences with foreign suppliers - being able to communicate clearly will go a long way in securing you that important deal.
Whether you require consecutive interpreting or simultaneous interpreting, on-site interpreting or interpreting by phone, Wolfestone Translation have the experience to make complex communication solutions seem easy.
