What do you see when you look at this picture? It’s not simply a white flag right? It represents Peace and is internationally recognized as a sign for fighting parties to ceasefire.
Our reaction to colour is instantaneous. Creating and expressing feelings, ideas and emotions it is a useful tool when trying to project an image of your product or service.
So is white a good colour to use when exporting abroad?
Advertisers have successfully used white in marketing campaigns for cleaning products, safety equipment, infant products and low fat/lighter food items.
Around the world white is linked to goodness, innocence, light, purity, and virginity. Doctors wear white coats, angels are white and brides get married in white from the UK to Japan to symbolise their purity. While in Buddhist China, White is worn to funerals representing the rebirth of the person into their next life.
